Final Day of 6-dog World Championships

I have to say, I'm glad it's over. I'm ready to get home now. Day 3 went ok for us. The trail was not as fast as yesterday. The wind was just howling too. I can't believe how hard it was blowing out there today, in some places it would darn near blow the sled over. I ran "Finch" & "Dewalt" in lead again today. Looks like we'll end up in 8th place overall, still the top USA team though. We may stay here one more day and train tomorrow morning before heading out. The training trails are super. It's a shame the race trails couldn't have been just as good. We are looking forward to getting home and doing some racing there as long as the weather gets better.
We will write more later when we have internet. Thanks to everyone back home for all their support. Happy trails!

Congratulations! 8th place in a world class event is honorable and reflects the hard work you and the dogs have done to get there. Everyone knows anything can happen in a dog race. I hope you got lots of photos in your Team USA uniform with those flags from around the world! Queen Fancy (retired lead dog at home) is proud of her children and grandchildren & wants them to hurry home to howl with her. Travel safe and remember to start writing all the details of this adventure on your way home. hugs - mom

Congratulations from me to.....
8th place is darn good to, especially when you are the best US team. I know it has been a long trip and adventure, but when you sit around the camp fire this summer, you will many good and not so good memories of this trip, and than, when you look at those wonderful dogs that have given you so much of themselves, you will be proud of them all over again. Travel safe.

good for you on the result. It is however very disappointing that the eight dog had to be like that. Still, considering all that happened a great result in the six dog. congrats. From Darren Ben Leanne and Rachel Kinvig. By the way the offer to stay at our house is still open. 867-633-6502

Dang, girl! I wish I could have been there to see all three days of this race. You've more than made everyone take notice. Just, way to go for going to Quebec and for staying and giving it all you had. Enjoy the off time there and give that Dukker a hug for me... Thanks for keeping us all up to date and posted. See you soon. hugs too. Joe PS there's a Jamaican entering the Iditarod this year, sponsored by Jimmy Buffet. Stranger than fiction, eh?
